Uzoma Odera Okoye is a Professor in the Department of Social Work at the University of Nigeria, Nsukka Enugu State, Nigeria. She has been teaching such courses as family social work, generalist social work, social work practice methods, and other courses both at undergraduate and postgraduate levels since 1997.

She is also a counsellor and resource person in different family-oriented gatherings. Prof Okoye has been married for 32 years to a fellow Professor and the marriage is blessed with 4 children.

She is, therefore, a wife, mother, daughter, sister, auntie, daughter-in-law, a teacher, researcher, and above all a career woman
